Irene Bradbury D.O. Principal Osteopath

Born in East Yorkshire, Irene initially had a career in Nursing. She attended a 3 year Business Studies course which helped her build a successful practice at The West-Gate Clinic. Irene initially trained in Remedial Massage, Advanced Remedial Massage and Manipulative Therapy at the renowned Northern Institute of Massage. She went on to pursue a career in Osteopathy graduating in 1995. Irene is Registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GoSC) which is the Regulating Body for Osteopaths and a Member of The Institute of Osteopathy (iO).

Irene has done many post-graduate courses during her years in practice including Sports Injuries at the Oxford Brookes University, CranioSacral Therapy with The Upledger Institute, courses at The Belfry aimed at treating Golfing Injuries. She is also a qualified Hypnotherapist.

Irene enjoys treating patients of all ages using a variety of Osteopathic Techniques, Soft Tissue Techniques, Stretching, Mobilisation, Articulation, CranioSacral Therapy and many more techniques which are varied to suit each individual. She also gives advice on lifestyle and prescribes exercises when appropriate.

Outside work Irene enjoys painting, walking, keeping active, gardening and a variety of music.

Adam Weisbaum Registered Osteopath

Adam graduated from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in 2006 and practiced in Kent and Surrey as well as teaching at the ESO before moving to Yorkshire in 2009. He is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of The Institute of Osteopathy(iO).

Adam treats all age groups (including babies and children) using a variety of techniques including Structural, Cranial and Visceral Osteopathy as well as stretches, giving postural advice and prescribing appropriate exercises as required.

While back and neck pain are the most common complaints, Adam also treats many patients experiencing a variety of other complaints including repetitive strain injuries, sports injuries and a variety of other conditions.

Outside practice, Adam enjoys cooking and martial arts in the hope the two balance each other out in the long run.

Rebecca Park

Rebecca Park M.Ost.

Rebecca studied Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in London gaining an integrated Masters Degree. She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO). Becky, who has previously worked in clinics in London and Somerset,initially joined the The West-Gate Clinic to cover for Kate who is currently on maternity leave. She very soon became a popular and valued member of the team and is now working at the Clinic on a permanent at the basis.

In her final year, Becky studied Osteomap, a protocol for the management of persistent pain which involves a combination of Osteopathic treatment and mindfulness practice. She is passionate about the value of teaching pain management techniques to patients suffering with persistent pain to help them achieve a better quality of life.

Becky is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and trained in the specific management of coccyx pain
using a variety of techniques, including manipulation, muscle energy, visceral, functional release and massage techniques. All treatments are tailored to suit the individual’s requirements and may range from very gentle to strong, deep tissue techniques, depending on the patient’s complaint, age etc.

Advice on managing their condition between appointments are given when appropriate.

In her spare time, Becky enjoys cooking, gardening, swimming and exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside – on foot!

Niall Walsh Registered Osteopath

Niall is a young, enthusiastic Osteopath who grew up in London and moved to Leeds in 2012, graduating from Leeds Beckett University with a Masters degree in Osteopathy. 4 years at University ensures he is competent in delivering a multitude of techniques, including Gait Analysis, High Velocity Thrust Manipulations, Soft Tissue Techniques (Massage), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) and other articulations.

Working at the Queens Square Wellness Centre of Osteopathy in Leeds whilst studying, gave him the opportunity and experience to enable him to work with patients presenting with a wide variety conditions from all walks of life. Niall enjoys the challenge of treating shoulder and back pain, assessing postural dysfunction and gait analysis.

In 2016, Niall competed in the British u23 weightlifting championships. The experience and training required, allowed him to gain an in-depth knowledge of exercise prescription, rehabilitation and training for sports. Working at the London 2012 Olympic/Paralympic Games, The Great North Run and helping athletes such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Lloyd Cooper prepare for competition have allowed Niall to implement his knowledge of the body and develop his Osteopathic Techniques in a sports orientated setting.

Outside work, Niall enjoys spending time with his family, watching action movies and going to the gym!

Kate Balcomb-Johns

Kate Balcomb-Johns achieved a first class Integrated Masters degree from the European School of Osteopathy(ESO). She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and a member of The Institute of Osteopathy (iO).

Kate enjoys treating patients across all age groups using a variety of Osteopathic techniques including cranial, visceral and mobilisation techniques,
depending on what is most suitable for the patient. If appropriate, exercises and advice on lifestyle will be incorporated bespoke to the individual patient’s needs. Treatments are tailored to suit all ages including babies and older children as well as pregnant mothers and the elderly.

In her spare time Kate enjoys practicing yoga and hiking in the outdoors and being a Mum.

Sarah Jane Hepworth Podiatrist/Chiropodist

Sarah Jane is a fully qualified Podiatrist/Chiropodist. She is a member of The Society of Podiatrists and Chiropodists achieving a Degree at Huddersfield University. Podiatry/Chiropody is a protected title and Regulated by the HCPC (Registration No.CH34775).

A Podiatrist/Chiropodist is trained to diagnose and treat disorders, diseases and deformities of the feet. Patients who have Private Medical Insurance may be covered for their treatment. (Please check with your Insurers before your appointment).

Sarah Jane has 14 years experience in treating feet, initially qualifying as a Professional Foot Health Care Practitioner at Maidenhead SMAE prior to gaining her degree as a Podiatrist/Chiropodist. She joined the team at The West-Gate Clinic in 2015.

In her spare time Sarah Jane enjoys riding and looking after her horses.

Yvonne qualified with The College of Foot Health Practitioners in 2004 and has over 13 years experience in treating feet. She joined The West-Gate Clinic in 2015.

Prior to joining The West-Gate Clinic, Yvonne
worked as a phlebotomist at a local G.P. Surgery and had an excellent relationship with both patients and colleagues.

Yvonne has 25 years working in the caring profession. She worked as a Mobile Warden and also gained 2 Diplomas from The International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies and NVQ Level 3 in Care.

During her leisure time, Yvonne enjoys walking, cycling, gardening and painting.

Christine Jackson  Nutritional Medicine

Christine Jackson


Christine is an experienced Nutritional Therapist who Graduated with a degree in Nutritional Medicine from the University of West London. Her love of cooking good healthy food contributed to her studying for a degree in Nutritional Medicine. From her personal experience she knows how important good, nutritious food is for keeping the body nourished, healthy and functioning at its’ best.

Christine is Registered with The British Association of Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and The National Healthcare Council (CNHC) which is designed to protect clients and ensure high standards in training and practice in Nutrition. By choosing a Nutritional therapist who is a member of BANT you can be confident that they follow the strict BANT code of professional practice, have professional indemnity insurance for Clinic practice and also meet the membership entry criteria.

Marian’s work is designed to inform, enable and empower each of her clients to make changes in their life, whether it is to stop smoking, reduce weight, help with fears, phobias, in fact any recurring life limiting unwanted patterns. She provides an enjoyable, positive way to achieve your goals quickly, effectively and easily.

She works empathetically with each client to ensure that the treatment is effectively tailored to suit your individual requirements.

Wendy Taylor

V.T.C.T. Diploma in Reflexology at Hull College, MFHT (Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists).

Wendy is passionate about reflexology and enjoys treating existing clients and also introducing new ones to the experience of reflexology. She is happy to offer FREE TASTER SESSIONS to anyone who feels apprehensive and would like to know more about reflexology. Wendy will explain how it works, how you may benefit from the treatments and whether it would be suitable for you with no pressure or obligation to have further treatment.

Wendy has been a volunteer with the British red Cross for over 30 years where her interest in first aid lead her to become a qualified first aid trainer gaining her 7306 F.E.T.C. (Further Education Teacher Certificate)in 1995.

Keeping fit and healthy is very important to Wendy. She enjoys walking, running, dancing and cycling.

Aromatherapy is a relaxing, enjoyable way of dealing with the tensions and stresses of modern day life. Joanna uses a variety of essential oils to suit your individual needs. A regular massage helps relieve tight muscles, improves circulation and promotes a feeling of wellbeing and relaxation. Joanna also has an extended diploma in Health and Social Care and has worked as an Aromatherapist and Masseuse with several groups including a Respite home for the MS Society. All treatments are tailored to suit your individual needs using light, gentle relaxing, soothing techniques or a deep stimulating massage to relieve tight, knotted muscles leaving you feeling exhilarated.
