Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is the ancient science of healing, relaxing or energising by the use of plant, fruit and herb oils called essential oils. These oils are chosen by the therapist and mixed to suit your individual requirements.

These are a few commonly used essential oils and their properties, but there are many more:

  • Calming – Chamomile, lavender, geranium
  • Uplifting – Ylang Ylang, clary sage, rose neroli
  • Energising – Rosemary
  • Cleansing – Rosemary
  • Decongesting – Eucalyptus, pine, tea tree

Aromatherapy massage is beneficial for treating people suffering with stress related conditions such as headaches, digestive disorders, pre- menstrual tension and gives you important time out.

What can I expect during an aromatherapy massage?

After the consultation, one or more essential oils are selected based on your specific needs and are mixed with the massage base oil.

The subtle aroma of the essential oils fills the air around you during the massage and as the essential oils permeate the skin it helps to promote total relaxation and helps restore inner balance.

Precautions – Certain oils should not be used during pregnancy or with some medical conditions
