The art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China but it wasn’t until 1913 that it was introduced to the Western World.

It is a non invasive complementary health therapy which involves working on the feet usually, although some therapists also work on the hands.

Reflex areas on the feet are believed to be linked to other areas and organs of the body. The theory is that reflexology naturally helps to restore the body’s balance and promote a feeling of relaxation. With ever increasing stress levels, it is important for us all to take time out for ourselves.

The therapist uses their hands, applying pressure to the feet. The experience is extremely relaxing although you may feel some transient discomfort during the treatment.

A course of treatments may be recommended by the therapist.

Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.
